NFL Notes: Tom Brady, Draft, Dolphins & Jets

Tom Brady

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the NFL does not see any need to reopen settlement talks with Patriots QB Tom Brady and the NFLPA.
  • Instead, the NFL believes neither NFLPA nor anyone from Brady’s camp has provided any rationale for settlement discussions, according to Schefter.
  • Beyond that, the NFL believes the time for those talks has come and gone, after the two sides had discussed a settlement last summer.

Draft

Peter Schrager reports that Georgia OLB Leonard Floyd is generating some buzz in recent days and could be an option for the Jaguars at No. 5, the Buccaneers at No. 9, the Giants at No. 10, and the Bears at No. 11.

Meanwhile, Ian Rapoport says that Floyd could end up being a top-10 tomorrow night.

  • Texas A&M OT Germain Ifedi has visited with the Texans, Lions, Vikings, Dolphins, Panthers, Bears, and Titans while working out for the Texans, Seahawks and Buccaneers. (Aaron Wilson)

Dolphins

  • Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald continues to hear that the Dolphins like Houston CB William Jackson and he’s likely to be an option for them at No. 13 overall.
  • Jackson adds that Ezekiel Elliott and Myles Jack are, of course, options for Miami as well.
  • In regards to a potential trade up the board, Jackson says it’s “highly debatable” whether they could afford it.

Jets

  • Rich Cimini reports that the Jets want an edge rusher in this year’s draft, but may have to wait until the second round to grab one.
  • Cimini mentions Boise State’s Kamalei Correa as a player on the Jets’ radar.
