Chiefs

  • Field Yates reports that Darrelle Revis‘ two-year contract with the Chiefs is worth up to $13.5 million in 2018.
  • According to Yates, the 2018 portion of Revis’ contract has a unique structure that benefits both sides, as Revis has a $1.015 million base salary that becomes guaranteed if he is on the roster on the fifth day of the 2018 league year, with another $185,000 available through a workout bonus.
  • Revis will also earn a weekly roster bonus of $550,000 for each game he’s on the 53-man roster, injured reserve or physically unable to perform list, which comes out to $8.8 million.
  • Beyond that, Revis has an opportunity to earn another $3.5 million in roster bonuses in 2018 tied to the Chiefs’ success during the 2017 postseason, $1.75 million if he plays more than 50 percent of the snaps in the AFC Championship game and the Chiefs win, and $3.5 million if he plays more than 50 percent of the snaps and the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.
  • Mike Garafolo says he would expect the Chiefs and Revis to renegotiate the contract in order for him to return to Kansas City next year.

Lions

Lions QB Matthew Stafford mentioned during an interview with WJR-AM on Monday that his injured ankle is “feeling better” and he doesn’t expect to miss time with the issue.

Obviously stuck around in town this weekend, got a bunch of treatment on it. We’ll see,” Stafford said, via Pro Football Talk. “Coach [Jim Caldwell] will put out that report on Wednesday or whatever it is for practice and all that kind of stuff, but it’s getting better and hopefully it’ll continue to get better.”

  • According to Mike Jurecki, Lions DC Teryl Austin is rumored to be a coaching candidate for Arizona State. However, Jurecki believes ASU already has a deal with someone else.
  • Howard Balzer reports that the Lions hosted free agent S Duke Ihenacho for a visit on Monday.

Patriots

  • Mike Reiss reports that the Patriots brought in free agent DT Marcus Hardison for a workout on Monday.
