Draft

  • According to Peter King, Missouri QB Drew Lock performed well enough at the Senior Bowl last week that he should end up being a first-round pick.
  • Kings says there’s “big buzz” regarding Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray being a top-10 pick with the Raiders, Giants, Jaguars, Broncos, Dolphins, Redskins, Chargers and Patriots possible landing spots for quarterback prospects.
  • Albert Breer says Drew Lock and Jarrett Stidham helped themselves the most at the Senior Bowl last week.
  • Another player who helped themselves at the Senior Bowl was Western Illinois DL Khalen Saunders: “He was really disruptive that first day,” an AFC executive tells Breer. “He had a steady week. Showed he belongs.

Packers

Adam Schefter mentioned in an interview with HBO’s “Real Sports” (via The Power Sweep) that he broke the news to Matt LaFleur that he was going to be Packers’ next head coach.

“Basically called the Packers head coach, Matt LaFleur the day he was fired. And I said, ‘Matt- just wanted to confirm you’re taking the Green Bay Packers head coaching job? And he said, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’

I said, ‘Have you gotten a call yet that you’ve been eliminated?’ And he said, ‘No.’

And I said, ‘Well, they’ve called everybody else and eliminated them. Congratulations. You’re the head coach of the Green Bay Packers.‘”
