49ers Among Interested Teams In Veteran CB David Amerson

The agent for free agent CB David Amerson tells Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee that the 49ers are among the interested teams in his client.

However, the 49ers have yet to schedule a visit with Amerson, but the team is expected to be in the market for cornerback help in both free agency and the draft, according to Barrows.

Amerson is visiting with the Texans on Monday (NFLTR) and previously met with the Bears last week. According to Ian Rapoport, Amerson has another three visits lined up this week, so he appears to have a good market for his services.

Amerson, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Redskins back in 2013. Washington waived him during the 2015 season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Redskins.

Amerson signed four-year, $38 million extension with close to $18 million guaranteed with the Raiders back in 2016. He was set to make base salaries of $5.5 million and $7 million over the next two years of the agreement when the Raiders released him in a move that freed up $6 million of available cap space.

In 2017, Amerson appeared in six games for the Raiders and recorded 18 tackles, no interceptions, a fumble recovery and four pass defenses.
