49ers & Chiefs Have Reportedly Discussed A Trade Involving De’Anthony Thomas

John Middlekauf of 95.7 The Game has heard that the 49ers have spoken with the Chiefs about a potential trade involving RB/WR De’Anthony Thomas.

Thomas, 23, was taken in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Chiefs. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $2,665,108 rookie contract and stands to make a bases salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.

According to :http://overthecap.com/calculator/kansas-city-chiefs/, trading Thomas would free up $503,473 in available cap space for the Chiefs while creating $210,054 in dead money.

In 2015, Thomas appeared in 10 games and ran for 140 yards on 17 carries (8.2 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 34 yards receiving and two total touchdowns. Thomas also contributed 138 kick return yards and 227 punt return yards.
