49ers Claim DB Cleveland Wallace Off Waivers From Texans

The San Francisco 49ers have claimed DB Cleveland Wallace off of waivers from the Texans on Thursday, according to Nick Wagoner.

Wallace, 22, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State back in May. However, it appears as though Houston feels as though the roster spot is better served by adding an offensive lineman, as they prepare for the preseason.

Wallace was actually a priority undrafted signing for the Texans before being cut loose on Wednesday.

During his college career at both Washington and San Jose State, Wallace recorded 79 tackles, one tackle for a loss, five interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, 19 pass defenses and a fumble recovery.
