49ers, Colts & Giants Reportedly Finalists For G Andrew Norwell

Art Stapleton of the Record, citing a league source, reports that the free agent G Andrew Norwell has the 49ers, Colts, and Giants as his three finalists.

Stapleton adds that the Giants are “all in on Norwell” and confident about getting him under contract.

  • Stapleton reported earlier that the 49ers were “pushing” to sign Norwell to a contract.
  • According to Jordan Raanan, the Giants are focused on signing Norwell at the start of free agency and are optimistic about their chances of landing him.

The Cardinals were also tossed out as a potential option for Norwell, but it appears as though he prefers these three options instead.

Norwell, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State back in 2014. He finished out his three-year, $1,542,000 deal with Carolina before agreeing to a one-year restricted tender worth $2.746 million for the 2017 season.

Norwell is now one of the best available offensive linemen in this year’s free agent class.

In 2017, Norwell appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 3 guard out of 77 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
