49ers Considering Colts S Antoine Bethea?

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee is hearing that Colts S Antoine Bethea “is another possibility” for the 49ers.

If S Donte Whitner signs elsewhere, the 49ers will have a huge void at the back end of their defense, as the only other safeties on the roster with substantial experience are second-year S Eric Reid, and S Craig Dahl, who recently took a $525,000 pay cut.

Bethea has spent his entire 8-year career with the Colts, and put up a solid season last year registering 110 combined tackles and 2 interceptions.

Other speculative options for the 49ers at safety include Giants S Ryan Mundy, and Panthers S Mike Mitchell.
