49ers DE Tank Carradine Could Be Headed To Injured Reserve

According to 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan, DE Tank Carradine could be headed to their injured reserve list with a high ankle sprain.

“Tank has got a high ankle sprain,” Shanahan said, via Pro Football Talk. “We haven’t gotten his MRI back, but we’re going to have to get that and really decide whether IR or not, because any time you’ve got a high ankle sprain, it’s going to be a while. So we’re not exactly sure how long it’s going to be. We’ll have to decide that probably Monday.

Carradine, 27, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $4.948 million rookie contract when he and San Francisco agreed to a one-year contract extension before the start of the 2016 season.

Carradine will make a base salary of $1.1 million this year before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2018.

In 2017, Carradine has appeared in three games and recorded seven tackles and a sack.

We’ll have more regarding as the news is available.
