49ers Designate DT Ronald Blair To Return From Injured Reserve

The San Francisco 49ers officially designated DT Ronald Blair as one of their two players to return from injured reserve on Thursday.

This officially opens a three-week window of time for the 49ers to add him to their active roster or he’ll spend the duration of the 2017 season on injured reserve.

Blair, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.61 million contract and set to make base salaries of $540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years of the deal.

The 49ers placed Blair on injured reserve with a thumb injury coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Blair appeared in 15 games for the 49ers and recorded 16 tackles and three sacks.
