49ers DL Arik Armstead Expected To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Broken Hand

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that 49ers DL Arik Armstead is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after he suffered a broken hand this past weekend.

The injury will likely require Armstead to undergo surgery, which means he could be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

Armstead, 23, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $9.84 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1,329,784 and $1,777,176 over the next two years.

The 49ers will have to decide whether to pick up his fifth-year option next year.

In 2017, Armstead has appeared in six games and recorded 16 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pass defense of the 49ers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 edge defender out of 104 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Armstead as the news is available.
