San Francisco 49ers FS Dashon Goldson mentioned that he’s willing to play under the franchise tag even if they’re unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal before Monday.
“I’m hoping something long term will happen,” Goldson said. “I’m not taking anything personally … If I have to play for the tag, I’ll play for the tag. But any guy would love long-term security.”
Goldons will receive $6.2 million for the upcoming season, but the recent deals signed my Michael Griffin and Eric Weddle have obviously increased his asking price. We’ve already dived into greater depth regarding his overall value to the team, as well the offer that they made to him months ago.
