ESPN’s Josina Anderson reports that free agent WR Hakeem Nicks has informed her that he is visiting with the 49ers on Monday.
This is the first reported interest in Nicks, who is arguably one of the best receivers still available in this year’s market.
Nicks, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Giants back in 2009. He played out his rookie contract with the team, but unfortunately found very limited interest as a free agent last year and was forced to sign a one-year, prove-it contract with the Colts.
In 2014, Nicks appeared in all 16 games for the Colts and caught 38 passes for 405 yards receiving to go along with four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 105 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
