49ers Intend To Re-sign WR Josh Morgan?

Unfortunately for the San Francisco 49ers and WR Josh Morgan, his fractured foot will cost him the rest of the 2011 season. The team has since signed Brett Swain to fill his roster spot but the Morgan is set to become a free agent at the end of the year so there’s some questions regarding his future in San Francisco.

We’ll make that a priority,” said 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh when asked about whether or not the teams plans to re-sign him, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

Heading into the season there were a lot of questions about the teams depth at wide receiver but Morgan began to develop a good relationship with Alex Smith so depending on his asking price, I could see the team exploring a possible extension. Morgan will 27 at the start of the 2012 season so he still has some of his best years ahead of him.
