49ers NT Ian Williams Will Miss “At Least A Month” With A Broken Leg

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports, citing a league source, reports that 49ers NT Ian Williams is out indefinitely with a broken leg.

  • According to Getlin, Williams will not require surgery on his leg injury, but the overall expectation is that he will miss “at least a month.”

Head coach Jim Harbaugh mentioned after Sunday’s win over the Saints that Williams had a leg fracture, so this isn’t the most shocking news.

San Francisco is getting NT Glenn Dorsey back from injured reserve after he suffered a biceps injury shortly before the start of the season.

Williams, 25, is in the second year of his three-year, $3.755 million contract that includes $2 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $950,000 this year and another $1 million in 2015.

This season, Williams has recorded 22 tackles, one sack and a pass defense over the course of nine games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 8 defensive tackle in the league.
