49ers Place LBs Jayson DiManche & Donavin Newsome On Injured Reserve

The San Francisco 49ers officially placed LBs Jayson DiManche and Donavin Newsome on the injured reserve list Thursday after they passed through waivers unclaimed.

DiManche, 26, originally signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Illinois back in 2013. He was waived/injured during the first round of roster cuts at the start of the 2015 season and eventually released from injured reserve with a settlement.

The Browns wound up signing DiManche off of the Bengals practice squad during the 2015 season, but he later returned to the Bengals’ practice squad and was brought back on a reserve/future’s contract.

DiManche was, unfortunately, waived from Cincinnati as they trimmed down to 75 players during the preseason last year. The 49ers elected to sign him to a contract this past April but waived him shortly after this year’s draft.

DiManche just returned to the 49ers a few weeks ago.

In 2015, DiManche appeared in one game but did not record a single statistic.
