49ers Place QB Thad Lewis On Injured Reserve With Torn ACL

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve officially placed QB Thad Lewis on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Lewis suffered the injury while scrambling to make a play in the third quarter of Sunday’s game.

Lewis, 28, is a well traveled veteran who has played for a number of teams including the Rams, Browns, Lions, Bills, Texans and Eagles. He signed a one-year contract worth $760,000 with the 49ers as a free agent back in March that included $25,000 available through incentives.

Lewis last appeared in an NFL game while playing for the Bills in 2013. That year, he threw for 1,092 yards while completing 59.2 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
