49ers Place Rookie DB Jimmie Ward On Season-Ending Injured Reserve

The San Francisco 49ers have placed rookie DB Jimmie Ward on season-ending injured reserve, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

Ward sustained a foot injury during Week 10’s win over the New Orleans Saints, but he still managed to finish out the game, even after suffering the injury.

Ward, 23, was the No. 30 overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. His rookie season ends with him recording 20 tackles, and two pass defenses over the course of eight games. Pro Football Focus has Ward rated as the No. 91 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players this season.
