49ers Place TE Garrett Celek On I.R. & Sign LB Shayne Skov

The San Francisco 49ers announced they’ve placed TE Garrett Celek on season-ending injured reserve and signed LB Shayne Skov to a two-year deal.

Celek, 27, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State back in 2012. San Francisco re-signed him to a one-year, $735,000 contract back in March, which means he’ll be a free agent next year.

This season, Celek has appeared in 11 games and recorded 19 receptions for 186 yards receiving and three touchdowns for the 49ers.

Skov, 25, signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford last year. He had a brief stint with the Buccaneers, but has spent the majority of his NFL career on and off of the 49ers’ active roster.

This season, Skov has appeared in 11 games and recorded four tackles for the 49ers.
