The San Francisco 49ers announced Monday that they’ve promoted RB Matt Dayes to their active roster and waived DB Tyvis Powell.
Dayes, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Browns back in 2017. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season, but was, unfortunately, waived coming out of the preseason.
The 49ers signed Dayes to their practice squad last month.
In 2017, Dayes appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and rushed for 13 yards on five carries (2.6 YPC) to go along with four receptions for 29 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He has also totaled 437 kick return yards.
