According to Jordan Raanan, the Giants are focused on signing Panthers G Andrew Norwell at the start of free agency and are optimistic about their chances of landing him.
Art Stapleton hears that the 49ers are being linked to free agent G Andrew Norwell and him signing with the Giants isn’t just a formality as many assumed. In fact, Stapleton says that San Francisco is “pushing” to sign Norwell to a contract.
- Last night, Mike Jurecki reported that the Cardinals are also planning to target Norwell in free agency.
Most of the buzz surrounding Norwell has centered around the Giants, but it appears as though they could have some immediate competition for his services in the coming days.
Norwell, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State back in 2014. He finished a three-year, $1,542,000 deal with Carolina before agreeing to a one-year restricted tender worth $2.746 million for the 2017 season.
In 2017, Norwell appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 3 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
