49ers & Rams To Play 2018 Regular Season Game In China

Don Muret of the Sports Business Journal reports that the 49ers face off against the Rams in a regular-season game that will be held in China during the 2018 season.

According to Muret, it’s likely that this game will be the Rams’ home opener for the 2018 season, but no date has been scheduled at this point in time.

Murel points out that any China game would be subject to league approval at an NFL owners meeting in October.

It’s been clear that the Rams were likely to be featured in a game played in China, as this was part of their deal to relocate to Los Angeles.

The Rams ultimately agreed to play international games in each of the next three years, so it makes sense that one of these games would be in China, especially considering that they will be located on the West Coast.

The NFL continues to focus on growing the pie internationally. They’ve played numerous games in London over the past several years and are now looking into other countries such as Mexico and Germany.

Others have proposed playing a game in South America at some point as well.

We’ll have more regarding the Rams playing a game in China as the news is available.
