49ers RB LaMichael James Expected To Miss A Month With Dislocated Elbow

 

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that 49ers RB LaMichael James has a dislocated elbow and is expected to miss about a month.

James was carted off the field with what was referred to as an arm injury during Sunday’s practice.

Bill Williamson of ESPN points out that James actually dislocated his elbow while in college and wound up returning after two games.

This is noteworthy given that the 49ers have already lost Kendall Hunter for the season following an Achilles injury he sustained this week.

Frank Gore is still expected to be the team’s No. 1 option as they head into the season, but second-round pick Carlos Hyde is in a great position to secure the No. 2 job and possibly carve out a regular role in training camp.

Marcus Lattimore is also someone to keep an eye on as well.
