The San Francisco 49ers announced Thursday that they’ve re-signed LB Shayne Skov to a one-year contract.
Skov, 27, signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2014. He had a brief stint with the Buccaneers but has spent the majority of his NFL career on and off of the 49ers’ active roster.
San Francisco elected to cut Skov loose coming out the preseason last year before adding him to their practice squad at the start of the regular season. He was called up just a few weeks into the regular season.
In 2016, Skov appeared in nine games and recorded eight tackles for the 49ers before he was placed on injured reserve.
