49ers Re-Sign RB Shaun Draughn To A One-Year Deal

The San Francisco 49ers have re-signed RB Shaun Draughn to a one-year contract on Wednesday, according to his agent Sean Stellato (per Adam Schefter).

New 49ers HC Chip Kelly mentioned recently that he wanted to re-sign Draughn do it appears as though they were to able to make this happen and bolster their running back depth.

Draughn, 28, originally signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina back in 2011. He lasted just a few months in Washington before he caught on with a number of teams including the Chiefs, Ravens, Colts, Bears, Chargers, and Browns.

Draughn signed on with the 49ers midseason, but wound up being placed on season-ending injured reserve in December.

In 2015, Draughn appeared in 11 games and ran for 273 yards on 78 carries (3.5 YPC) to go along with 27 receptions for 176 yards receiving and one total touchdown

  1. Nice rotational back and especially on third downs, which is Draughn’s specialty due to the fact that he is more of an receiving back.
