49ers Re-Sign WR Louis Murphy & TE Logan Paulsen

The San Francisco 49ers announced Monday night that they’ve re-signed WR Louis Murphy and TE Logan Paulsen to one-year contracts.

Murphy, 30, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2009. He spent three years in Oakland before bouncing around a bit with the Panthers and Giants.

The Buccaneers signed Murphy to a four-year, $4.75 million contract back in 2014 before releasing him from the injured reserve list last November.

Murphy signed on with the 49ers in time for training camp this summer but was, unfortunately, released coming out of the preseason.

In 2015, Murphy appeared in six games for the Buccaneers and caught 10 passes for 198 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Paulsen, 30, signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA back in 2012. Washington re-signed him to a three-year deal in 2013.

Unfortunately for Paulsen, he was placed on season-ending injured reserve at the start of the 2015 season and subsequently missed the entire year with a toe injury. The Bears signed him to a one-year contract last year.

San Francisco signed him to a contract this past March but wound up releasing him coming out of the preseason. It proved to be just a temporary move, as the 49ers re-signed Paulsen a day later. He’s been on and off of their roster this year.

In 2017, Paulsen has appeared in all seven games for the 49ers but has yet to catch a pass.
