49ers Re-Signing QB Tom Savage

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the 49ers are re-signing QB Tom Savage to a contract on Monday.

Savage, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Texans back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.52 million contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

The Saints signed Savage to a one-year, $1.5 million deal back in March, but was released coming out of the preseason. The 49ers signed him last week but needed a roster and cut him loose soon after.

In 2017, Savage appeared in eight games and completed 56.1 percent of his passes for 1412 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. The Texans placed him on injured reserve after he suffered a scary concussion.
