Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News reports that the San Francisco 49ers are interest in QB Josh Johnson even if they re-sign Alex Smith in the coming days.
Inman also mentions that the Washington Redskins have shown interest in him as well.
Johnson could actually meet with the 49ers sometime this week. Jim Harbaugh coached Johnson while at the University of San Diego so there’s definitely a connection there.
