49ers Release Rookie LB Ben Boulware From Practice Squad, Sign DB Jarnor Jones

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve released rookie LB Ben Boulware from their practice squad on Tuesday and signed DB Jarnor Jones.

The 49ers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR DeAndre Carter
  2. OL John Flynn
  3. TE Cole Hikutini
  4. CB Asa Jackson
  5. QB Nick Mullens
  6. DL Noble Nwachukwu
  7. WR DeAndre Smelter
  8. OL Darrell Williams Jr.
  9. RB Jeremy McNichols
  10. DB Jarnor Jones

Boulware, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Panthers cut him loose as they cut their roster down the 53 players.

The 49ers signed him to a contract last week.

During his college career at Clemson, Boulware recorded 261 tackles, 26.5 tackles for a loss, eight sacks, five interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, seven forced fumbles, and four pass defenses.
