49ers Reportedly Discussing A Multi-Year Extension With WR Anquan Boldin

Ian Rapoport recently reported that the 49ers and impending free agent WR Anquan Boldin have “mutual” interest in a contract extension and Boldin is expected to be one of the team’s top priorities this offseas.

Matt Maiocco of the CSN Bay Area reports that the 49ers are in the process of negotiating a “multi-year extension” Boldin.

San Francisco will need to save some cap space in order to address some other players such as QB Colin Kaepernick and WR Michael Crabtree, but losing Boldin would certainly have an impact on their receiving corps next season.

Boldin, 33, is coming off of another productive season in which he totaled 85 receptions for 1,179 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 8 receiver in the league, so he should be one of the few veteran players to do well in free agency, assuming that he even makes it that far.

We have Boldin listed as the No. 50 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
