ProFootballTalk, citing a league source, reports that the 49ers have signed fifth-round pick CB Keith Reaser.
Reaser started the first six games of his senior season at Florida Atlantic University before tearing his left ACL in October. Reaser underwent two surgeries, with the second becoming necessary after a setback. He was not able to participate in the NFL Combine and was limited at his Pro Day.
Reaser does possess an impressive blend of size, speed and man-to-man coverage ability.
The 49ers have demonstrated a willingness to “redshirt” certain prospects, a luxury they can afford because of quality depth throughout their roster. The most recent recipient of the “redshirt” treatment was RB Marcus Lattimore.
