49ers Reportedly “Very Interested” In LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr

Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the 49ers are “very interested” in LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Previous reports have mentioned that the 49ers could trade up for a receiver such as Texas A&M’s Mike Evans. Earlier today, Ian Rapoport suggested that the 49ers could possibly trade up to No. 17 overall with the Ravens for a receiver.

This, of course, would require someone like Beckham Jr to be available at that point in round one, and there has been talk that he could come off the board as high as No. 12 overall.

The 49ers could use another receiver to go along with Michael Crabtree and WR Anquan Boldin. It would make sense for San Francisco to add some young talent at the position given that Boldin is already 33 years old.

Beckham is widely considered to be the third best receiver in a very deep receiver class. Last year, he caught 59 passes for 1,152 yards and 8 touchdowns for the Tigers while also serving as the team’s kick returner.

Beckham tested fairly well at the combine particularly in the forty yard dash with 4.43 seconds.

We have Beckham going to the Steelers at No. 15 in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
