49ers Sign 9 Players To Futures Deals

The San Francisco 49ers officially signed nine players to future/reserve contracts on Monday for the 2018 season.

The full list includes:

  1. WR DeAndre Carter
  2. QB Nick Mullens
  3. OT Pace Murphy
  4. TE Cole Wick
  5. OT Andrew Lauderdale
  6. LB Boseko Lokombo
  7. DB Channing Stribling
  8. DB Trovon Reed
  9. FB Malcolm Johnson

Johnson, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was in the second-year of a four-year, $2,399,452 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 this season when Cleveland cut him loose a few months into the 2016 season.

The Seahawks signed him to their practice squad and eventually promoted him to their active roster. However, Seattle eventually waived from injured reserve this past June.

In 2016, Johnson appeared in seven games for the Seahawks and recorded five receptions for 44 yards and lost one fumble. He also contributed one rushing attempt for two yards.
