49ers Call Up CB Asa Jackson, Waive CB Keith Reaser

According to Matt Maiocco, the 49ers have promoted CB Asa Jackson from their practice squad and waived CB Keith Reaser in a corresponding roster move.

Jackson, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. He spent the first three years of his career in Baltimore before he was waived as the team cut their roster down to 53 players.

Jackson was waived with the injury designation before later reverting to the team’s injured reserve list. Baltimore wound up waiving him not long after, but he managed to catch on to the Bengals practice squad at the end of November.

The Cardinals signed him to a future/reserve contract in January of last before cutting him loose coming out of the preseason. He was on and off of the Ravens’ practice squad before catching on with the Lions toward the end of last year.

The 49ers signed him to a contract back in August.

In 2016, Jackson appeared in four games for the Lions and recorded seven total tackles and one pass defense.
