49ers Sign Draft Picks S Jimmie Ward & ILB Chris Borland

 

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signings of first-round pick S Jimmie Ward and third-round selection ILB Chris Borland.

San Francisco now has eight of their 12 draft picks under contract, so there appears to be a good chance that they could have their 2014 draft class wrapped up by this weekend.

Ward’s four-year contract is worth an estimated $7,112,524 which includes a signing bonus of $3,492,748, according to OverTheCap.com.

Meanwhile, Borland’s four-year contract is worth an estimated $2,927,436 which includes a signing bonus of $617,436, according to OverTheCap.com.

During Ward’s four years at Northern Illinois, he totaled 319 tackles, two sacks, 11 interceptions, four forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown.

Borland was a highly productive player for Wisconsin. In four years, he produced 420 tackles, 17 sacks, three interceptions, 14 forced fumbles and 18 passes defensed.
