49ers Sign Fourth-Round Pick WR Bruce Ellington

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of fourth-round pick WR Bruce Ellington to a four-year deal.

The 49ers have now signed all of their draft picks except for third-round pick C Marcus Martin.

Ellington’s four-year deal is worth an estimated $2,694,428, with a signing bonus of $474,428 according to OverTheCap.com.

Ellington is an intriguing player who could find playing time early in a variety of sub-packages.  The 49ers receiving corps is deep, but has lacked an explosive element in recent seasons.  The addition of Stevie Johnson via trade could reduce the rookie’s snaps, but he is versatile enough to line-up all over the field.

Ellington could also challenge LaMichael James for the punt and kick return duties.

Ellington caught 49 passes his senior season for 775 yards, good for 15.8 yards per catch.  He added eight total touchdowns.
