49ers Sign RB Kendall Hunter To A One-Year Extension

The San Francisco 49ers announced Monday that they have signed RB Kendall Hunter to a one-year contract extension.

San Francisco waived/injured Hunter back in early August after he suffered a a serious knee injury. Hunter cleared waivers and was reverted to the 49ers’ injured reserve list.

The 49ers had said all along that they would like to re-sign Hunter at some point, even after he suffered the knee injury, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Hunter, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers and would have been an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Last year, Hunter appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and ran for 358 yards on 78 carries (4.6 YPC) and three touchdowns.
