The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they have signed S Vinnie Sunseri to their practice squad.
The 49ers’ practice squad now consists of:
- LB Marcus Rush
- OL Fahn Cooper
- OL Alex Balducci
- CB Prince Charles Iworah
- OL Norman Price
- RB Kelvin Taylor
- WR Chris Harper
- LB Curtis Grant
- S Vinnie Sunseri
- WR DeAndre Smelter
Sunseri, 22, was taken in the fifth-round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Saints. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2,396,500 rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $600,000 when the Saints placed him on waivers back on April 25.
The Patriots later signed him to a contract before cutting him loose coming out of the preseason. Sunseri returned to the Patriots but was let go a few weeks ago.
In 2015, Sunseri was unfortunately waived with the injury designation after he suffered an ACL injury, and later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list where he remained for the entire season.
