49ers Sign Third-Round QB C.J. Beathard

The San Francisco 49ers have signed third-round QB C.J. Beathard to a four-year rookie contract, according to Matt Maiocco.

Beathard, 23, was selected by the 49ers with the No. 104 overall pick after San Francisco elected to trade up to acquire him. In total, the 49ers gave up a forth- and seventh-round pick in this year’s draft for the right to select him.

According to OverTheCap.com, Beathard will receive a four-year contract worth $3,106,288, which includes a signing bonus of $706,284.

During his four-year college career at Iowa, Beathard completed 454 passes on 782 attempts (58.1 percent) for 5,562 yards (7.1 YPA), 40 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.
