49ers Sign Veteran DL Sen’Derrick Marks To One-Year Deal

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve signed veteran DL Sen’Derrick Marks to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

The 49ers brought in a few veteran defensive linemen for workouts on Tuesday including Tyson Jackson and Ricardo Mathews. However, it appears as though Marks was the most impressive of the bunch.

Marks, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in 2009. He spent four years in Tennessee before signing a five-year, $19.5 million contract with the Jaguars back in 2013 that included $8 million guaranteed.

Marks was set to make a base salary of $3.45 million for the 2017 season when the Jaguars cut him loose back in March.

In 2016, Marks appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and recorded 22 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 89 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
