The San Francisco 49ers announced Monday evening that they’ve signed veteran WR Louis Murphy to a contract and waived LB Jimmie Gilbert with an injury designation.
Murphy, 30, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2009. He spent three years in Oakland before bouncing around a bit with the Panthers and Giants.
The Buccaneers signed Murphy to a four-year, $4.75 million contract back in 2014 before releasing him from the injured reserve list last November.
In 2015, Murphy appeared in six games for the Buccaneers and caught 10 passes for 198 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
