The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed WR DeAndre Smelter to their practice squad and waived WR Dres Anderson from the unit.
The 49ers’ practice squad now consists of:
- WR Dres Anderson
- LB Marcus Rush
- OL Fahn Cooper
- OL Alex Balducci
- CB Prince Charles Iworah
- OL Norman Price
- RB Kelvin Taylor
- WR Chris Harper
- LB Curtis Grant
- RB DuJuan Harris
Smelter, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2015. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.28 million rookie contract when the 49ers waived him back in August with an injury designation.
Smelter reverted to the injured reserve list after clearing waivers before he was later waived with an injury settlement coming out of the preseason.
Smelter has yet to appear in an NFL game.
