ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers have reached an agreement to re-sign DT Ian Williams to a five-year contract.
Williams, 26, wound up signing on whit the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in 2011. He was set to be one of the best available defensive tackles in this year’s free agent mark.
In 2015, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and recorded 65 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, a recovery and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 18 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.
