49ers Sticking With Colin Kaepernick At QB

49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters following Sunday’s loss to the St Louis Rams that he intends to keep Colin Kaepernick as their starting quarter for Week 14’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

“I will let you know if there’s a change,” said Harbaugh, via Sacramento Bee. “But right now, I feel as if it would be the same this week. And I’m proud of Kap — proud of the way he played. He did some things, some really good things, under a lot of heat and duress and handled himself well, gave our team a chance to win.”

Kaepernick finished Sunday’s game with 208 yards passing and another 84 yards on the ground. Unfortunately, it was his mistake in the fourth quarter where he pitched the ball over the head of Ted Ginn Jr.on a toss play that was ultimately recovered by Janoris Jenkins for a touchdown. The Rams added a two-point conversion that tied the game.

There’s no question that Kaepernick brings more to the 49ers offense than Alex Smith does, so it’s not surprising that they would stick with for at least another week.
