49ers Still Pursuing Gus Bradley For DC Job & Have Upped Their Offer To Him

Mike Silver of NFL Media reports the 49ers are still pursuing Gus Bradley for their vacant defensive coordinator position and have upped their offer to him.

  • Earlier in the day, Alex Marvez mentioned that he believes the league buzz going around about the 49ers possibly hiring Bradley as their defensive coordinator under Kyle Shanahan would “make a lot of sense.”

Bradley was hoping to work under Tom Cable, who was in contention for the 49ers’ head-coaching job. However, San Francisco is reportedly set to hire Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan once Atlanta’s season is over.

Bradley has already interviewed with the Chargers and Redskins and recent reports have said that the Chargers remain the “front-runners” to hire him as their next defensive coordinator.

Bradley is widely considered to be the best available defensive coordinator right now, so he does have options to consider.

Bradley, 50, was hired by the Jaguars back in 2013 after he spent four years with the Seahawks. In four years with the Jaguars, Bradley produced a record of 14-47 (23 percent) and no playoff appearances. The Jaguars’ most wins under Bradley was five from last year.

We’ll have more regarding the Bradley and the 49ers’ defensive coordinator job as the news is available.
