49ers TE Vernon Davis Still Considering A Holdout?

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk , citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that the “current thinking” regarding 49ers TE Vernon Davis standoff is that he will not be showing up to training camp.

This comes just a month after he filled in for Peter King Monday morning over at  MMQB.com saying that he was willing to  hold out of mandatory minicamp in an attempt to secure a long-term contract.

“It’s all about getting paid what you deserve. It’s not that complicated,” Davis wrote via MMQB.com.

Davis forfeited a workout bonus of $200,000 by skipping OTAs.

Davis, 30, signed a six-year, $42.705 million contract that included $23 million guaranteed. He has base salaries of $4.7 million and $4.35 million coming his way over the next two years.

Last year, Davis caught 52 passes for 850 yards receiving and scored 13 touchdowns for the 49ers. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 7 tight end in the league.
