49ers To Host LB Erin Henderson For A Visit This Week

Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that free agent LB Erin Henderson held a private workout for NFL teams in Tempe, Arizona on Saturday, which was the day before the Veterans Combine.

  • According to Anderson, representatives from multiple teams  were on hand including members of the 49ers.
  • Anderson adds that San Francisco has scheduled a visit with Henderson for this Wednesday.

The 49ers have lost multiple linebackers to retirement in the past few weeks, so they clearly are in need of help at the position.

Henderson was suspended four games of the 2014 season and never caught on with a team after serving the four-game ban.

Kansas City brought him in for a tryout back in January, but never offered him a contract.

Henderson, 27, last appeared in an NFL game during the 2013 season while playing for the Vikings. He recorded 112 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble over the course of 14 games for Minnesota.

Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 19 inside linebacker out of 55 qualifying players in 2013.
