- ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers receive a 2018 seventh-round pick in return for Acker.
Acker, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.340 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, trading Acker will free up $569,850 in available cap space for the 49ers while creating $60,300 in dead money.
In 2015, Acker appeared in 15 games for the 49ers and recorded 65 tackles, three interceptions, and eight pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 70 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
