49ers Could Have Trade Interest In Broncos QB Trevor Siemian?

According to Mike Klis of 9News, the Broncos figure to receive trade inquiries about QB Trevor Siemian if they end up signing Tony Romo at some point this offseason.

Klis mentions that the 49ers figure to be one team worth keeping an eye on in regards to a potential trade involving Siemian, as new HC Kyle Shanahan reportedly mentioned during his interview with the Broncos that he was impressed with Siemian last year.

As of now, the 49ers do not have a single quarterback under contract, so even if they intend to draft someone this April, they would still need some more options at the position.

A report from last week mentioned that the Bills could also show some interest in Siemian, depending on whether they move on from Tyrod Taylor and the Broncos get Romo under contract.

Siemian, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015. He’s entering the third year of his four-year, $2.33 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Siemian appeared in 14 games for the Broncos and threw for 3,401 yards while completing 59.5 percent of his passes to go along with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 30 quarterback out of 34 qualifying players.
