49ers Released RB Kendall Hunter From I.R. With Settlement

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the 49ers have released RB Kendall Hunter from the injured reserve list on Thursday with a settlement.

Hunter, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2011. He wound up signing a one-year, $870,000 contract extension with the 49ers in November of last year and would have made a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.

Unfortunately, Hunter missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his ACL. He wound up being among the team’s final roster cuts, but later reverted to the injured reserve list a few weeks ago.

In 2013, Hunter appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and ran for 358 yards on 78 carries (4.6 YPC) and three touchdowns.
